Very helpful book for big feelings!
“This book is very helpful for kids who are going through big emotions! My son was upset about something and we started reading this book (which he also wasn’t happy about). However, by the first ‘angry quack’ page, emotions started to calm. There’s a phrase that repeats and my son picked up on it and was reciting the line on his own without reading the words on the page. The rhymes are cute and the book is very ‘catchy’ which makes the overall lesson easy to take in. By the second set of ‘happy quacks,’ my son’s big emotions had calmed. He enjoys this book and I will be purchasing more books in the Be and Breathe series.”

A Good Message to the Kid Who Can’t Say No.
“This book resonated with my daughter in particular who has a hard time saying ‘no’ and setting boundaries without feeling guilt. So many times, she has quietly gone along with something that made her uncomfortable because she was so worried about hurting someone else’s feelings, that she couldn’t protect her own. It is so important for the soft-hearted and soft-spoken to find their voice and realize it’s okay to say ‘no’ and to ‘think and choose.’ Kids - especially shy and compassionate ones - need to know that their feelings matter, too, and that setting clear boundaries isn’t mean, but healthy. This is such a tough topic and such a difficult hurdle to get over - even for some of us adults. As a mom of an overly empathetic child, I highly recommend this book as a gentle, but solid start to letting your child know the right way to say ‘No’ or ‘Maybe not.’ The book’s illustrations are colorful, and vividly drive home the message of its rhyming words. ‘Okay Blue Jay’ should be on every young people-pleaser’s shelf.”
